Extending Access to Medicaid

Beginning on January 1, 2014, eligibility for Medicaid coverage was extended to adults with an annual income up to 138 percent of the Federal Poverty Level. The federal government will pay 100 percent of the cost for covering this population over its first three years and 90 percent beginning in 2020 and beyond.

The Kasich Administration remains committed to providing quality, cost-effective health care to low-income residents. Ohio Medicaid is working with its partners and other agencies to further reform the Medicaid program and ensure coordinated, quality care to this new population of beneficiaries.
